Real Illusions

We have arrived in Dublin, everything went smoothly, and I think I now live here.

We arrived yesterday, and I today I got a call from Manpower carrying good news. I got the job, starting on Monday! Only problem might be that she works in southern Dublin and I in the very north. Finding somewhere to live that’s reasonably close to both places may be tricky.

Dublin could get a little more sorted but it seems the only probable cause of death here so far is the traffic. Well, forgetting to “feed” a certain person is risky too…

Finally, some things are stupid here. Washing basins have two taps: one for scolding hot water and one for cold water. If you thought the adjustable temperature tap was a pretty simple phenomenon, think again.

For once, it’s time for the States to choose a worthy president. Obviously, for that to be possible you first need worthy candidates and I am worried that Hillary might actually succeed with her campaign. Her recent commercial, the one talking about who to answer an emergency call to the white house at three am seems to have taken to the public. “At such a time there would be no time for in-house training yada yada, we need someone who knows what to do and can make a decision…” (this is by no means a quote!) Clearly, this kind of talk is aimed at picturing Obama as an inexperienced rookie.

And the public believes it?! Perhaps it actually is that way, but I hate to see the opinion changing over a simple commercial. As they’d prefer it themselves: may God save the Americans.

How could you trust someone like Hillary? Yes, she’s very experienced and all, but in the political sphere I’m not sure that’s even a good thing. Let’s instead have some faith in the new guy, remember, it can’t get worse!

Böckerna är i mycket bra skick, de flesta är dessutom olästa. De lämpar sig mycket bra som barn och ungdomslitteratur.

Okej, det kanske inte är så kul, och för personen i fråga kanske böckerna verkligen lämpar sig väl som barnsubstitut.

Call a piece of sushi by the name “sushi”, and it would kill you if dead fish could kill. So, for security reasons, we call it おすし。 Osushi, that is.

Facebook, Facebook. Vik hädan, så blir det nog bäst för alla…

Idag möttes jag av en inbjudan till denna grupp som uppenbarligen ogillar Socialdemokraterna. Men vänta nu, vilka partier är det som styr för tillfället? Man skulle nästan kunna tänka sig, efter lite enkel matematik, att det finns betydligt fler än bara 10 000 personer som ogillar Socialdemokraterna. Eller vad sägs om gruppen “Bevara Skåne Danskt”? Tja, den skulle ju kanske göra större nytta om Skåne faktiskt var danskt… Trots det har även Facebook ljusa stunder, och det bör nämnas att Betapet nyligen flyttat in på Facebook. Poängen med den applikationen på Facebook är vid närmare eftertanke inte så stor förutom om den får lite spridning, men den som vill får gärna utmana mig.

För övrigt ställer jag mig i skamvrån och skäms en skvätt å Facebooks vägnar.
